The City is proud to have been selected as one of six study cases for a recently published national research report conducted by AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, Johns Hopkins University, the Institute of Transportation Engineers and the University of North Carolina.

The report aims to be a useful resource for communities that plan to deploy a safe system approach in their transportation designs and services.

The report provides a comprehensive framework, best practices, and lessons learned from the six study cases:

• Menlo Park, CA
• McKenzie County, North Dakota
• West Hartford, Connecticut
• Madison, Wisconsin
• Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
• State of Massachusetts

This report will assist future practitioners and safety advocates to adopt, implement, and sustaining use of a comprehensive Safe System, and how to overcome potential obstacles.
