Community Comes Together to Address Overdoses

(Astoria, OR) - An Overdose Awareness candlelight vigil will take place on Saturday, August 31, at 8 p.m. at Maritime Memorial Park, 10 Bay St in Astoria. The event aims to acknowledge those touched by overdose and raise awareness about overdose prevention.

"We want to provide a space for grieving and remembrance for those affected by overdose while increasing community awareness to reduce stigma around drug use and mental health," said Lisa Schuyler Clatsop County Public Health Department Health Promotion Supervisor.

Naloxone and other resources will be available to attendees from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
