Ministers Lindiwe Zulu joins National House of Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders’ Women and Youth Empowerment Outreach Programme in Moroke Village, Limpopo, 31 Aug

Minister Zulu to join the National House of Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders' Women and Youth Empowerment Outreach Programme at Magadimane Ntweng Traditional Council, Limpopo Province

The Minister of Social Development, Ms Lindiwe Zulu, will on Thursday, 31 August, join the National House of Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders' Women and Youth Empowerment Outreach Programme in Moroke Village, Sekhukhune District-Limpopo Province. The village is under the jurisdiction of Magadimane Ntweng Traditional Council.

The visit forms part of Minister Zulu's Women's Month activities and the ongoing collaboration between the Department of Social Development and the National House of Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders. The collaboration is intended to provide a platform for traditional leaders to get involved and take the lead in the development of their own communities.

Traditional and Khoi-San leaders are a key access point and can be enablers for change in supporting their communities to address social ills, including gender-based violence and substance abuse, amongst others. The Department has conducted household and community profiling in the area with the view to develop and implement job creation and women and youth who are disproportionately affected by high levels of unemployment.

Minister Zulu will donate desk tops to the local secondary school as a way of investing in education for learners living in rural areas to bridge the digital divide and ensure that no learner is left behind in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
