Cathedral City’s Discover Digest

Economic development is crucial for Cathedral City as it fuels the community's growth and enhances the quality of life for its residents. By attracting new businesses, fostering local entrepreneurship, and creating job opportunities, economic development helps to build a robust and resilient economy. Additionally, a thriving local economy can boost property values and increase the city's overall appeal, drawing in more visitors and residents. In essence, investing in economic development is investing in the future prosperity and vibrancy of Cathedral City, ensuring it remains a great place to live, work, and play.
We are pleased to introduce two new team members who will be continuing to lead our economic development strategic efforts.
Erick Becerril has recently joined Cathedral City as our new Economic Development Manager. Eric has had a distinguished 16-year career in local government, mainly in the Coachella Valley. Erick has served in a variety of development-related roles in building, community development, and housing. Most recently Erick served as the Housing and Community Programs Manager for the City of Desert Hot Springs. Erick is also a regional board member for the Municipal Management Association of Southern California where he is helping promote strong government leadership in the Desert Region, which includes Imperial county, central and eastern Riverside County, and southeastern San Bernardino County.
"I am honored to join Cathedral City as the new Economic Development Manager and look forward to playing a key role in shaping the city's future. My vision is to drive sustainable economic growth by fostering innovation, attracting new businesses, and supporting our local enterprises. Equally important is addressing the need for a diverse housing supply, ensuring that Cathedral City remains a vibrant and inclusive community where both businesses and residents can thrive. I am eager to work with city leadership, stakeholders, and the community to turn this vision into reality," said Erick.
