Construction Advisory: Sustainable Streetscapes 2024 Project

The City's Sustainable Streetscapes 2024 project continues to improve bicycle, pedestrian and vehicular facilities with striping and bikeway improvements coming up.

Recently paved streets in the City's triangle neighborhood, 43rd, 45th, 47th, 48th, Essex and Salem Streets are currently scheduled to have the striping replaced beginning September 30th through October 11th.

Residents and businesses in the area can expect minor delays during the work as well as short term "no parking" restrictions posted in the next week.

On Shellmound Street between 62nd Street and 65th Street, the freshly paved road will have concrete curbs and striping to create a quarter mile of new Class IV Separated Bikeway, as prescribed in the City's recently adopted Active Transportation Plan. This construction is currently scheduled to begin September 30 and continue through October 18.

Residents and businesses in the area can expect delays and "no parking" restrictions during the construction.

As construction nears, the Contractor will be notifying affected residents and businesses of the upcoming work and posting "No Parking" signage in the above areas. The notices and signage will include the specific dates and hours of construction and should be delivered/posted at least three days before the beginning of construction.

We apologize for any inconvenience but thank you for your cooperation in making our streets safer for bicyclists, pedestrians and motorists.
