Experience Indianola Summer Art Festival July 27-28 at Buxton Park

The Indianola Public Arts Commission is delighted to host the third annual Indianola Summer Art Festival in conjunction with the Celebrate Warren County Parade. This event coincides with other major events in Indianola, including the National Balloon Classic and Warren County Fair.

The two-day, family-friendly art festival will take place in Indianola's historic Buxton Park on Saturday, July 27, and Sunday, July 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Admission to the event is free and all are welcome to attend.

"The Indianola Summer Art Festival is just around the corner, and we're thrilled to invite folks from throughout the region to join us for a vibrant celebration of art, music and culture that showcases the talents for dozens of local artists," said Tim Wilson, member of the Indianola Public Arts Commission. "Come and immerse yourself through a diverse range of artistic styles and mediums and experience a weekend filled with creativity, connection and community."

More than 30 artists will have their artwork and exhibits set up throughout the park. Visitors can also enjoy live music and entertainment from singers, flutists and pianists as well as yard games, food trucks, balloon animals, face painting, scratch art and other activities. Sponsors of the event include CemenTech, Copper + Fringe, TruBank, Kerry Bishop/Iowa Realty, Kading Properties, North River Arts Council, Indianola A&W, TRM Disposal as well as Simpson College and the City of Indianola.

The Indianola Public Arts Commission is a citizen-based board established to assist the Indianola City Council in its efforts to meet the needs of the community. The mission of the Indianola Public Arts Commission is to encourage the cooperation and coordination of projects in the field of arts that will enhance the cultural level of the arts in the community. The commission cooperates with Simpson College, the Indianola Community School District and others to encourage individuals and groups to foster a broad arts program for the community.
