Most transactions can be done at Michigan.gov/SOS
ADRIAN, Mich. - The Secretary of State office at 1040 S. Winter St. in Adrian will be closed for two days during a remodeling project, but most residents can go online to Michigan.gov/SOS instead for their transactions.
The office will be closed Thursday, Nov. 7, and Friday, Nov. 8, and will resume normal service at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12 after the Veterans Day holiday closure that Monday.
The project includes the replacement of carpet in the office.
Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson's administration has doubled the number of services available online and now most transactions can be done from computer, tablet, or mobile phone.
Self-service stations provide instant registration, driver's license and ID renewals, as well as some other transactions, and offer nine language options, including Spanish. The nearest self-service station is located in the Meijer store at 217 E. US-223 in Adrian.
Residents who need to come into an office for Secretary of State services during the remodeling period may schedule a visit to the closest alternative office at Michigan.gov/SOS or by calling 888-767-6424.
The nearest offices are located at 59 E. St. Joe St. in Hillsdale and 1107 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe. Both offices are open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Wednesdays, when the hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
