During a special called meeting on November 19, 2024, Sumter County Board of County Commissioners Debora Butterfield, Todd Coon, and Don Wiley, who were elected countywide, were officially sworn into office by Sumter County Judge Paul Militello. The ceremony marked the beginning of their respective four-year terms of service to the residents of Sumter County.
In addition to the oath of office, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) was reorganized with new appointments made to leadership positions. Don Wiley has been appointed as Chairman, Andrew Bilardello as Vice Chairman, and Jeffrey A. Bogue as Second Vice Chairman of the board. These positions will be held for one year as the board undergoes reorganization annually in November. The Commissioners also determined which Commissioner would represent the BOCC on various boards and committees at the local, regional, and state levels.
