PennDOT’s Washington County Maintenance Update

​Uniontown, PA - Washington County Maintenance Manager Susan Howard announced the following tentative work plan for the week of August 26. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Base repair:

• Route 18 (Burgettstown Road) in Hanover, Mount Pleasant and Smith townships, and Burgettstown Borough.
• Route 4037 (Fort Cherry Road) in Mount Pleasant Township.
• Route 40 (East National Pike) in Centerville Borough.

Bridge replacement:

• Route 3009 (Sunset Beach Road) in Buffalo Township.

Litter removal:

• Interstate 70 in Somerset Township.

Mowing:

• Interstate 70 Ramp 8014 (Jefferson Avenue) in the City of Washington.
• Route 136 (East Beau Street) Park and Ride in South Strabane Township.
• Route 221 (S Bridge Road) in Buffalo Township.
• Route 519 Ramp 9501 in North Strabane Township.
• Route 837 Ramp 8025 in Donora Borough.

Seal coating:

• Route 3021 (Old Brick Road) in West Finley Township.
• Route 3025 (Good Intent Road) in West Finley Township.
• Route 3029 (Burnsville Ridge Road) in West Finley Township.
• Route 3037 (Ackley Creek Road) in West Finley Township.
• Route 3043 (Majorsville Road) in West Finley Township.

Shoulder cutting:

• Route 40 (Main Street) in Amwell, Canton South Strabane and West Pike Run townships and the City of Washington.
• Route 136 (Beau Street) in East Washington, North Strabane, South Strabane, and Somerset townships.
• Route 519 (Eighty Four Road) in North Bethlehem and Somerset townships.
• Route 1055 (Thomas Eighty Four/ Brownlee Road) in Somerset Township.
• Route 2021 (Pigeon Creek Road) in Somerset Township.

Slide repair:

• Route 2063 (Beallsville Road) in Deemston Borough.

Spot milling:

• Route 40 (Jefferson Avenue) in the City of Washington.

Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the county.

PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern. This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1.800.FIX ROAD (1.800.349.7623).

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
