On the heels of a successful week of conference play, the Penn State Altoona men's soccer team swept the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's weekly awards on Monday, Oct. 28.
Midfielder Matias Harte, of State College, was named the AMCC's Offensive Player of the Week, and defender Owen Myers, of Spring Grove, was selected the conference's Defensive Player of the Week.
NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. - On the heels of a successful week of conference play, the Penn State Altoona men's soccer team swept the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's weekly awards on Monday, Oct. 28.
Midfielder Matias Harte, of State College, was named the AMCC's Offensive Player of the Week, and defender Owen Myers, of Spring Grove, was selected the conference's Defensive Player of the Week. Both players helped lead the Lions to conference victories last week, as the team defeated Carlow University 2-1 at home on Wednesday and Pitt-Bradford 2-0 on the road on Saturday.

Harte assisted on the go-ahead goal in Wednesday's win over Carlow, then scored his team's second goal on Saturday against Bradford. He combined to attempt 10 shots, putting four on goal.

Myers led a Penn State Altoona defense that allowed just one goal last week, while holding Carlow and Pitt-Bradford to a combined eight shots on goal.
This is the first career AMCC Player of the Week award for both student-athletes.
Penn State Altoona men's soccer is 3-9 overall, including 2-5 within the AMCC. The Lions finish their regular season on the road on Tuesday, Oct. 29, traveling to face nearby conference rival Mount Aloysius College at 7 p.m.
