DMV Select to Close During Stafford Treasurer’s Office Renovations

The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Select, located in the Stafford County Treasurer's Office, will close temporarily while renovations are completed. The Treasurer's Office will remain open with its regular services, including the collection of real estate and property taxes, dog license fees, permit fees, water and sewer charges, and more.

Construction is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, and is expected to be completed in January 2025. Depending on the progress of the renovations, the Treasurer aims to reopen the DMV before January.

During this period, the Treasurer's Office will remain operational with minimal disruptions. There may be delays in the lobby accepting payments as construction will be ongoing. The public is encouraged to utilize Stafford's website, www.staffordcountyva.gov/epay for online payments. Additional staff are being trained on the phones to assist with any questions.
