'How to become an Iowa Mock Trial Judge' video now available

The 2024 Iowa Middle School Mock Trial Tournament is gearing up for another great year, and now is the time to register as a volunteer judge. To assist individuals interested in volunteering during mock trial for the first time or needing a refresher, the ISBA has created a video on "How to become an Iowa Mock Trial Judge."

ISBA Communications Director Haley Bohlmann sat down with John Wheeler, head of Iowa's Mock Trial Program, to discuss the importance of volunteer involvement, explain the qualifications for volunteering, the registration process, and the role of judges in evaluating the students' performances and presentation skills. John emphasizes the program's impact on students' future careers and encourages more volunteers to participate to keep the program alive.

This year's regional competitions will be held between Nov. 7-22, with the middle school state tournament scheduled for Dec. 2-4.
