Shannon Estenoz Brings Experience, Strong Leadership to Public Lands Management

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The National Wildlife Federation applauded the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee for advancing the nomination of Shannon Estenoz to serve as Deputy Secretary of the Department of the Interior and urged the full Senate to quickly follow suit.

"Shannon Estenoz has the experience and leadership skills necessary to help the Department of the Interior steward nearly 500 million acres of public land. With more than two decades of experience in conservation, she will bring a collaborative approach to tackling the numerous challenges that face wildlife and our public lands," said Abby Tinsley, vice president for conservation policy at the National Wildlife Federation. "Her strong bipartisan support in the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee today is good news for all who cherish public lands and wildlife."
