Baker Donelson has added experienced finance and corporate attorney Peter E. Bosman as a shareholder in its Raleigh, North Carolina, office.

Drawing on 15 years of experience, Mr. Bosman advises financial institutions and companies on debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate transactions. His practice is focused on guiding and representing banks, private credit funds, and other non-bank lenders, as well as private equity firms and public and private companies, through a broad range of complex transactional matters, including secured and unsecured credit facilities, leveraged acquisitions, and other debt and equity investments.

"Peter's experience and skill set is a great addition to our Raleigh team as we continue to expand our offerings in this market and beyond," said Matthew W. Wolfe, managing shareholder of Baker Donelson's Raleigh office. "He has an impressive background in a wide spectrum of finance transactions, and we believe our clients will benefit greatly from his counsel."

Kristine L. Roberts, chair of Baker Donelson's Financial Services Department, added, "Peter's sophisticated lending practice is an important element to Baker Donelson's ability to provide high-level client service to financial institutions in North Carolina, across the Southeast, and beyond. We are confident that Peter's practice will strengthen our financial services offerings and will contribute to our ability to provide quality advice to our clients."

Mr. Bosman is particularly experienced in representing banks and other financial institutions across a variety of debt finance structures in connection with sponsor-backed acquisition transactions in the lower middle-market. He also has experience advising Small Business Investment Companies (SBICs), Business Development Companies (BDCs), and other institutional mezzanine funds in debt and equity financings.

Mr. Bosman said, "I am thrilled to join a firm with the strength and breadth of Baker Donelson's financial services practice and to be part of an energetic and collaborative team. Baker Donelson is experiencing real momentum in terms of growth and success, and I look forward to contributing to that. It's an exciting time to be here."

Mr. Bosman joins from Smith Anderson, where he had practiced since 2012. Prior to practicing in North Carolina, he was an associate at an international law firm in Chicago.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina and the University of Virginia School of Law, Mr. Bosman is a board member and immediate past president of the Raleigh Durham Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), and he serves as chair of the board of ArtSpace, a non-profit visual arts center located in Downtown Raleigh focused on creating positive community impact through artist residencies, exhibitions, arts education, and community outreach.
