RCMP seeking public's help following arson

The Blackville RCMP is seeking the public's help in connection with multiple structure fires in Arbeau Settlement, N.B.

On August 10, 2024, at approximately 1:20 a.m., members of the Blackville, Tracadie, Caraquet, and Minto RCMP detachments, the RCMP Police Dog Services, and the Blackville, Renous-Quarryville and Doaktown Fire Departments, responded to a report of multiple structure fires on Brophy Road in the community.

Through the investigation, it was determined that the fires had been intentionally set. One cottage, two sheds and two vehicles were deliberately set on fire. No one was injured.

Anyone with information that could help further the investigation is asked to contact the Blackville RCMP at 506-843-9400. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App, or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.

The RCMP Forensic Identification Services and the Office of the New Brunswick Fire Marshal are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
