Wednesday, Sept. 25 A concert for saxophone and mixed media, "Of Dreams and Nightmares," will be at 7:30 p.m. in Max Noah Recital Hall at Georgia College & State University. Guest artist saxophonist Paula Van Goes of Atlanta will perform nine compositions, taking listeners "through a night of insomnia." This begins with a blend of euphoric exhaustion in Alex Temple's "This Changes Everything" and Marc Mellits' calming "Mara's Lullaby" to the graveyard feeling of Jacob TV's "Garden of Love" and Candinho Trombone's cheerful "As Proezas de Nolasco." This concert will also be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/GCMusicDepartment. A $5 donation is encouraged. Online donations can be made at give.gcsu.edu/g/department-of-music/. All proceeds benefit music scholarships or the GCSU Department of Music through GCSU Foundation, Inc. For more information, please email [email protected] or call 478-445-8289.
