New exhibition coming to City Hall Gallery

As part of Cultural Services' new City Exhibitions program, the City Hall Gallery is a dedicated exhibition space that offers increased opportunities for local and regional artists to present their work and foster meaningful community engagement, learning and reflection through art.

The gallery's next installation will open during Visual Arts Week at the end of September. "Confluence" is a community art exhibition featuring the creativity and cultural expression of local and regional artists. This collaborative exhibit showcases a collection of artworks that span a spectrum of mediums and art practices, including traditional basket weaving, wood carving, painting and ink on paper. Contributing artists include Amrita Dutia, Analee Fuentes, Arusha Dittmer, Christy Long/Galvloi, Raoul Dittmer, Stephanie Craig and Yvonne Stubbs.

Each artwork will be merged into a larger mural composition in a collective design led by designer and public art facilitator Addie Boswell, to be unveiled on the east facade of the City Hall building this winter.

The exhibition will be open to the public at City Hall beginning Sept. 30 and can be viewed 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday. An artist reception will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 4, during Lane Arts Council's First Friday ArtWalk.
