On the Second Anniversary of Its Passage, the CHIPS and Science Act Continues to Deliver for the Middle Class – No Thanks to Don Bacon

The CHIPS Act has created more than 50,000 good-paying jobs since 2022

Two years ago, the CHIPS and Science Act was signed into law - no thanks to Don Bacon, who voted against these historic bipartisan investments because he doesn't have the spine to stand up to his MAGA party bosses.

This legislation has delivered historic investments in American manufacturing, spurring the re-shoring of jobs and strengthening the nation's domestic supply chain. Specifically, the CHIPS Act has:

  • Spurred the creation or expansion of 83 new semiconductor manufacturing and supply chain facilities across the country.

  • Attracted $447 billion in private investments across 25 states, boosting America's chip manufacturing capacity while reducing our dependence on importing chips.

  • Created more than 56,000 good-paying jobs.

  • Expanded opportunities at more than 50 community colleges to help workers access these job opportunities.

While Don Bacon blocked these critical investments for his own political gain, Tony Vargas fought to bring CHIPS funding to Nebraska, which would have invested millions in the state's semiconductor industry workforce.

DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
"Don Bacon has consistently prioritized his political career over doing the right thing for Nebraskans. He caved to his party to oppose historic, bipartisan legislation that is creating good-paying jobs, investing in American manufacturing, and growing the middle class. That's why voters will send Bacon packing in November."
