Connect with your neighbors during Pitt’s free block party series

This fall, Pitt's Office of Engagement and Community Affairs will host Be A Good Neighbor block parties around the Oakland neighborhood surrounding the University's Pittsburgh campus.

The food and music filled celebrations create a safe, relaxing environment where students, neighborhood residents, community partners and Pitt resources can come together and learn from one another. Organizations like Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, Phipps Conservatory, Kidsburgh and Playful Pittsburgh will attend.

All Pitt or Oakland community members are welcome to drop into any party - no registration is required. Here is the 2024 schedule:

  • North Oakland, Aug. 27: Gallagher Lawn at 234 N. Dithridge St.
  • South Oakland, Sept. 3: Dan Marino Field at 3716 Frazier St.
  • West Oakland, Sept. 10: The Corner, Terrace Street between Robinson and Burrows Streets
  • Oakland Square, Sept. 17: Oakland Square Greenspace, Dawson Street
  • Oakcliffe, Sept. 24: Oakcliffe Playground, Craft Avenue and Niagara Street
