Field of Remembrance service at Carisbrooke Castle

On Thursday 7th November, HM Lord-Lieutenant will again be hosting the annual Field of Remembrance service at Carisbrooke Castle. Gates to Carisbrooke Castle will open at 10:15 with the service beginning at 10:50, the service will last 15 minutes and will be led by Newport and Carisbrooke's Reverend Steve Sutcliffe. It will end with the opportunity for attendees to plant a remembrance cross, available at the castle, proceeds to the Royal British Legion. Members of the public are all welcome.

Following the Field of Remembrance Service, visitors are invited to view the new World War II Memorial in the Church of St Nicholas. The memorial, with the names of all those from the Isle of Wight who died during World War II, sits alongside the existing memorial of those from the Island who died during World War I. The project started in 2018 and has been funded by a number of endowments and charities.
