Weekly Lane Closure Advisory for the Transform 285/400 Project

WHAT:
Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation contractors will close lanes on I-285 eastbound and westbound and SR 400 northbound and southbound for construction activities. Travel restrictions include possible delays, reduced speeds, and detours in some areas.

*NOTES: Work schedule updates can be made daily. Check the project web page often for the latest updates. Detour information is shown using red text.
Closures marked with **/++ - Only one of these closures will be implemented.

WHEN/WHERE: Traffic Impacts on I-285 and SR 400 from November 25, through December 2, 2024

Wednesday, November 27, at 6 a.m. to Monday, December 2, at 5 a.m.
***HOLIDAY LANE CLOSURE RESTRICTIONS - NO CLOSURES***

Daytime Closures:

Tuesday, November 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • One, left lane on SR 400 southbound from Mount Vernon Highway to Hammond Drive
Overnight Closures:

Monday, November 25, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Two, right lanes on SR 400 northbound from I-285 to Abernathy Road
  • Two, right lanes on SR 400 southbound from I-285 to Johnson Ferry Road
Closures and Detours:

SR 400 southbound to I-285 westbound
(Detour Map)
  • Motorists traveling on SR 400 southbound to I-285 westbound should use Exit 4B I-285 eastbound and Exit 29 Ashford Dunwoody Road to access I-285 westbound.
SR 400 southbound to Hammond Drive (Detour Map)
  • Motorists traveling on SR 400 southbound to Hammond Drive should use Exit 5 Abernathy Road and Mercedes-Benz Drive (road changes to Barfield Road) to access Hammond Drive.
Lake Forrest Drive at I-285 Full Closure (Detour Map)
  • Motorists traveling on Lake Forrest Drive northbound should use Northwood Drive, Kingsport Drive (road changes to Lake Placid Drive), Roswell Road, Cliftwood Drive, Sandy Springs Circle, and Allen Road to access Lake Forrest Drive northbound.
  • Motorists traveling on Lake Forrest Drive southbound should use Allen Road, Roswell Road and Northwood Drive to access Lake Forrest Drive southbound.
Hammond Drive to SR 400 northbound
  • Motorists traveling on Hammond Drive to SR 400 northbound should use Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Barfield Drive, and Abernathy Road to access SR 400 northbound.
Tuesday, November 26, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Three, left lanes on I-285 westbound at Lake Forrest Drive
  • Two, right lanes on I-285 at SR 400
  • One, left lane on SR 400 northbound at Abernathy Road
  • Two, right lanes on SR 400 southbound from I-285 to Johnson Ferry Road

  • Motorists traveling on SR 400 southbound to Hammond Drive should use Exit 5 Abernathy Road and Mercedes-Benz Drive (road changes to Barfield Road) to access Hammond Drive.
