Traffic on the east side of campus has been severely impacted due to the secure vehicular checkpoint for the RNC located at the intersection of 9th St. and Wells St. Eastbound traffic is regularly backed up on Wells Street to 13th St., which is impacting adjacent routes including Exit 72A (10th St./Michigan St.) Traffic is especially impacted during the morning commute time period.

  • Access campus from the west: Those coming to campus are encouraged to access campus from the west via Wisconsin Ave. or Clybourn St.
  • Wells Street Parking Structure 2: It is recommended that the Wells Street Parking Structure 2 should be accessed from the north entrance on Kilbourn St. to avoid the Wells St. congestion.

The Marquette University Police Department is monitoring traffic throughout the RNC and this post will be updated with best practices for navigating congestion. Text alerts will also continue to be sent with up-to-date traffic and other campus impact information.
