DLA Distribution hosts VIP Kids Day, learn more about logistics

Nearly 100 children of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution employees took part in a "VIP Kids Day" Wednesday, August 7, at the organization's headquarters in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania.

The event was an opportunity for kids to learn more about what their parents do every day in support of the warfighter.

"Today is all about you," said Navy Rear Adm. Michael York, commander, DLA Distribution, during the event's kick-off in the Gainey Auditorium. "I hope you are able to learn more about what your parents do here every day to help support our military around the world."

Participants raised their right hands for a "kids' oath," before seeing demonstrations by the fire and security departments, search around the building during a scavenger hunt, and more before heading out to the Defense Distribution Center, Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, and DLA Installation Management at Susquehanna's, Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Summer Fest.
