Governor Polis Joins Fort Collins Comic Con and Celebrates Back to School with Parents & Students

FORT COLLINS - Today, Governor Polis joined fellow Coloradans who happen to be geeks, Star Trek fans, Star Wars lovers, and comic heads at Fort Collins Comic Con. Governor Polis, joined by Dr. Erin Macdonald, Astrophysicist and science advisor for Star Trek, kicked off the Comic Con convention which brings together self-proclaimed geeks and science fiction enthusiasts.

"The amazing Fort Collins Comic Con brings together people of all ages and walks of life to share our common love for all things comics, gaming, movies, characters, and science fiction. I always enjoy events like Comic Con that bring our community together for a good time," said Governor Polis.

Later this afternoon, Governor Polis will visit Playcrafter Kids, a Universal Preschool provider in Fort Collins. The Governor will greet students and parents to celebrate the end of the first week back to school.

"Colorado's popular Universal Preschool saves families thousands of dollars each year, creates opportunities for all Colorado kids, and prepares students for success. As many students finish their first week of school we are reminded why giving all students a headstart in education is important for our economy and future," said Governor Polis.
