The State Route 220 (SR 220) J Mack Ferry will be Dry Docked for Required Hull Inspection Long Term Closure Starting Sunday Night at Midnight, September 29, 2024

Solano County - Caltrans has scheduled a long-term closure of the State Route 220 (SR-220) J-Mack Ferry. The closure starts Sunday Night, September 29, 2024, and will continue for approximately 2-3 months. The closure is needed to perform repairs and federally mandated Coast Guard inspections.

Per Coast Guard regulations, the J-Mack ferry cannot operate until the boat is dry-docked, the hull has been inspected at its 5-year interval, and the inspection is completed.

The Delta's companion ferry, the Real McCoy Ferry (SR-84) can be used for crossings, while the J-Mack Ferry is out of service.

However, due to ongoing mechanical repairs please be advised that both ferries could be out of service at any give time. Caltrans urges the public to plan all travels around the delta region to avoid any delays.

Please note that Caltrans has scheduled three upcoming 55-hour full weekend closures on the SR-12 Rio Vista Bridge. The closures are needed to perform needed repairs including roadway surface and bridge deck repairs, replacing bridge rails, installing bridge approach slabs and installing ADA compliant pedestrian ramps. Detours will be in effect. Expect delays.

• 9 p.m. Friday, October 18 to 5 a.m. Monday, October 21
• 9 p.m. Friday, November 1 to 5 a.m. Monday, November 4
• 9 p.m. Friday, November 15 to 5 a.m. Monday, November 18 (Tentative)

The State Route 84 Miners Slough Bridge can also be used to access Ryer island, and the Rio Vista Bridge can be used to access the City of Rio Vista.
