2nd Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 6363 West Airport Boulevard

August 29, 2024- Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman found at 6363 West Airport Boulevard about 5:35 p.m. on Monday (Aug. 26).

The suspect, Bobby Singh Shah, 51, is charged with capital murder in the 262nd State District Court. A booking photo of Shah is attached to this news release.

The victim is identified as Muna Pandey, 21.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Providence and A. Herrera reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a person down call and found the victim, later identified as Ms. Pandey, with multiple gunshot wounds inside an apartment. Paramedics pronounced her deceased at the scene.

The apartment complex staff told officers that prior to calling 911 they received an anonymous call about a body inside the apartment.

An initial investigation revealed the suspect was a male and a surveillance photo of the unknown male was released to the public on Wednesday (August 28).

Further investigation identified the male as Shah. The Harris County District Attorney's Office was contacted and a capital murder charge was filed against him.

Shah was located and arrested on Wednesday evening during a traffic stop in northwest Houston in a coordinated effort by HPD SWAT officers, the HPD Crime Reduction Unit and the Texas Department of Public Safety. He was subsequently booked into the Harris County Jail.
