Media Advisory: High Representative/Vice President Josep Borrell participates to ECFR event on Israel/Palestine

On Tuesday 23 July, the High Representative will participate in Brussels to a panel discussion organised by the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) on the situation in Israel and Palestine.

Starting at 13.45 CET, the High Representative will speak in an open event, discussing how the EU can support a sustained ceasefire in Gaza, and a renewed Israeli-Palestinian political track.

Other panelists include Avraham Burg, former Knesset Speaker and founder of the "All its Citizens" party; Aida Touma-Sliman, Member of Knesset for Hadash; Daniel Levy, former Israeli negotiator; President of the U.S./Middle East Project (USMEP); Jamal Nusseibeh, Palestinian-American lawyer; Board Member of the Middle East Policy Council in Washington, DC. The panel will be moderated by the ECFR senior analyst Hugh Lovatt.

The exchange will be an occasion to discuss the ongoing crisis and possible way out with experts of, and from, the region, , as well as the role that the European Union can play in working with partners to move towards a sustainable solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict .
