SCDOT to implement temporary lane closures on Islands Causeway in Beaufort County for paving

Columbia, S.C. (September 5, 2024) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will implement temporary lane closures on Islands Causeway from US 21 to White Horse Road in Beaufort County beginning on September 6. These closures will take place daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. until the end of September.

Traffic will be maintained during the lane closures. Drivers are asked to pay attention to traffic control signs in the area and expect delays when entering and exiting the Lady's Island Bridge. A map of the area where the lane closures will take place is below.

SCDOT asks the public to slow down and pay attention when driving through the work zone. You can plan your route ahead of time by using SCDOT's 511 SC app or by visiting 511sc.org. If you can't avoid the area, SCDOT asks that you use caution and slow down when driving near crews.
