BCA's Loans Grew 15.5%, Positive Performance across All Segments

Jakarta, 22 April 2024 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (IDX: BBCA) and its subsidiaries recorded an increase in total loans by 15.5% YoY to Rp850 trillion in June 2024, higher than the industry average. From profitability point of view, BCA and its subsidiaries booked a net profit growth of 11.1% YoY in the first half of 2024, reaching Rp26.9 trillion. The growth was underpinned by higher loan disbursement and rising transaction volume and funding.

"Business loans recorded a solid growth across both the corporate and MSME segments. On consumer lending, we disbursed higher volume supported by the successful event 'BCA Expoversary 2024'. The event, which was held over two months, attracted a total application around Rp50 trillion in mortgages and vehicle loans. Corporate loans became the segment with the highest growth in June 2024, increased 19.9% YoY to Rp388.6 trillion. Commercial loans grew 7.9% YoY to Rp127.8 trillion, and SME loans grew 12.7% YoY to Rp114.4 trillion. The total consumer loan portfolio increased by 13.6% YoY to Rp210.2 trillion, supported by a 10.8% YoY growth in mortgages to Rp126.9 trillion and 18.4% YoY growth in vehicle loans to Rp62.1 trillion. The growth in other consumer loans (majority in credit card loans) reached 20.2% YoY to Rp17.8 trillion.

Loan disbursement to sustainable sectors, including investments in green bonds and sustainability linked loans, grew 9.3% YoY to Rp198 trillion, or accounted for 23.2% of total loans as of June 2024. To promote the development of electric vehicle ecosystem, BCA continues to disburse financing for electric vehicle with outstanding loans reaching Rp1.5 trillion as of June 2024, a 2-fold YoY growth. BCA also presented '#KaMUKartini Multipurpose Business Loans' program with special lending rates starting from 3.21% eff.p.a. for women entrepreneurs. As of June 2024, '#KaMUKartini Multipurpose Business Loans' increased 250% YoY.

Improvement in loan quality accompanied BCA's solid loan growth. Loan at risk ratio (LAR) stood at 6.4% in June 2024, compared to 9% in previous year. Non-performing loan (NPL) ratio stood at 2.2%. NPL and LAR coverage was at solid level, at 190.2% and 71.2% respectively.

On the funding side, third-party funds grew by 5% YoY reaching Rp1,125 trillion. Current and savings account (CASA) contributed more than 82% of total third-party funds, and grew 5.8% YoY to Rp915 trillion. The solid CASA growth was in line with the performance in transaction frequency, which grew 21% YoY to reach 17 billion in the first half of 2024 or a 4-fold growth in the last 5 years. At the digital channels, mobile and internet banking transaction frequency reached 14.8 billion, up 24% YoY.

In line with robust lending and funding performance, BCA posted a positive growth in net interest income for the first half of 2024, up 7.9% YoY to Rp39.9 trillion. Non-interest income increased 12.1% YoY to Rp12.4 trillion. Total operating income was recorded at Rp52.4 trillion, up 8.9% YoY. BCA's credit provision decreased 6.8% YoY in line with the improvement in asset quality.

"BCA continuously develops 'myBCA', and we are pleased to launch 'Poket Valas' as one of myBCA's new features. The feature offers fund pockets, denominated in eight major foreign currencies under one integrated account. Customers can transact using foreign currencies at any time in any location. Debit payment and cash withdrawal transaction abroad in foreign currencies could be conducted without conversion to rupiah," said Jahja Setiaatmadja.

In addition to 'Poket Valas', 'myBCA' registration or login can now be performed using overseas phone numbers from hundreds of countries. 'Lender Fund Account' was also recently launched for facilitating customers as lender in P2P platform. Digital service enhancement has been carried out for 'KeyBCA' which is now available in mobile application. As a gesture of appreciation for customers, BCA presents 'Gebyar Hadiah BCA' program, offering prizes such as Vespa LX I Get 125 to Mercedes Benz cars, which run from May 1 to August 31, 2024.

Celebrating National Education Day, 'Bakti BCA' held a series of public lectures titled "BCA Berbagi Ilmu" held at 5 state universities across Indonesia where BCA's Board of Directors directly lectured more than 3,300 students. 'The BCA Berbagi Ilmu' program was complemented by student banking tours to a number of BCA branches. The program also includes makeup training and Makeup Artist certification for disabilities. 'Bakti BCA' supported the revitalization of a 10-hectare Cikoneng, Bogor, for a group of coffee farmers, aiming for higher productivity and increasing income to reach international standard. Further, 'Bakti BCA' once again organized a free halal certificate workshop, targeting 2,000 MSME participants, a 2-fold increase compared to last year. In the health sector, 'Bakti BCA' became a funding partner worth US$ 1 million to support the government in the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction program in Indonesia. This program has been implemented in 8 districts across the country, and will continue this year. Last but not least, 'Bakti BCA' collaborated with Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) in organizing blood donation that collected 411 blood bags.
