UPDATE: FATAL AIRCRAFT CRASH

Lafayette, LA - The small aircraft under investigation departed at 11:35am. 911 received a call at 11:37am which was followed by a prompt response to Oakbourne Country Club by the Lafayette Fire Department. One confirmed aircraft occupant has been confirmed deceased. No additional information has been confirmed at this time regarding soul(s) on board.

Representatives from the Lafayette Fire Department, Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, Acadian Ambulance, Lafayette Airport Commission, and Lafayette Consolidated Government are on the scene. The investigation will be turned over to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and updates will be provided accordingly as more information becomes available.
