A poetry reading by Mike Simms will take place from 12:05 to 1:20 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, in the Titelman Study of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts at Penn State Altoona. Simms is a poet, novelist, essayist, political activist, editor and publisher.
ALTOONA, Pa. - A poetry reading by Mike Simms will take place Thursday, Nov. 14, from 12:05 to 1:20 p.m. in the Titelman Study of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. The reading is free and open to the public.
Simms is a poet, novelist, essayist, political activist, editor and publisher. His most recent collections of poetry are "Strange Meadowlark" and "Jubal Rising." His speculative novels are "Bicycles of the Gods" and "The Talon Trilogy."
Simms is the founding editor emeritus of "Autumn House Press" and the founding editor of "Vox Populi."
In 2011, he was awarded a Certificate of Recognition from the Pennsylvania Legislature for his service to the arts. He lives in Pittsburgh with his wife, psychologist and philosopher Eva-Maria Simms.
