Investigation into Fatal Crash at 700 Chimney Rock Road

October 16, 2024- Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 700 Chimney Rock Road about 11:15 a.m. today.

The identity of the deceased female, 19, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Patterson and Officer J. Tran reported:

According to witnesses, the female was operating a purple Yamaha YZF motorcycle northbound near the above address and weaving in and out of traffic. The female then ran the red light at the intersection of Woodway Street and struck a brown Mercedes-Benz GLC-300 making a left turn (with a green turn signal) from Chimney Rock onto Woodway. The female was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced deceased by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.

The driver of the Mercedes remained at the scene and was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.
