Crane Field Skills: Tracking and Banding, Goose Pond FWA

A representative from the International Crane Foundation will be leading programs for kids and families on Saturdays at Goose Pond FWA this summer: On July 6, join us at 11 a.m. ET at the Goose Pond Visitors Center for a crane biologist skills day!

Kids and their families will participate in a discussion about where cranes live, how they use their habitat, and how that leads to the research and monitoring questions crane biologists ask. Following the discussion, kids will learn about monitoring techniques, band their own paper crane, use real tracking technology used by crane biologists to find hidden crane tracking devices, and record their field notes.

Please register to attend this free event.

DNR values inclusion and access for all participants and will provide reasonable accommodations for this event. Please contact Ethan Plumier at 812-512-9159 or [email protected]to make an accommodation request. Requests must be submitted by June 28.
