The citywide annual evaluation program begins January 1, 2025. We will use the same format as 2024.
The evaluation format includes:

Annual Evaluations will be initiated for all eligible employees on January 1, 2025.

Annual Evaluations due date: March 1, 2025 (Police: March 31, 2025)

Competencies will remain the same as last year with each competency weighted at 20% of the total score.

For employees who complete their 12-month Probationary Evaluation between September and December, they will not be included in the 2025 Annual Evaluation program.

All departments will have the same competencies this year.
Competencies

Job Knowledge: Demonstrates the essential skills and abilities for successful performance in the position. Understands the policies, procedures, equipment, and materials necessary to effectively perform the job. Shares knowledge to improve operations and shows pride in work. Stays up to date on job methods, skills, and techniques.

Accountability: Accepts responsibility for own actions and decisions and demonstrates commitment to accomplish work in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Is willing to take on additional tasks when needed and is willing and able to work as a team player with coworkers. Does not mind asking for assistance and is supportive of those who may ask him/her for assistance. Reports to work regularly with a minimum number of unscheduled absences and tardiness. Gives notice when absence or tardiness is unavoidable.

Customer Focus: Committed to excellent customer service to both internal (coworkers) and external (public) customers. Connects coworkers, residents, and external organizations to the City's services and communicates clearly and accurately in a welcoming, comfortable, knowledgeable, and responsive manner. Employee promptly resolves the customers' needs, is approachable, and is thorough with follow-up when necessary. Respectfully listens to gain a full understanding of issues and displays openness to other's viewpoints. Presents clear and informative written and verbal communications. Uses appropriate communication methods depending on the audience.

Ethics: The level to which the employee follows established City and departmental rules, regulations, procedures, and policies. Acts in a trustworthy and honest manner based on a moral conviction to do the right thing. Exhibits sensitivity to ethical issues and takes appropriate action when necessary. Demonstrates a high regard for truth and accuracy.

Decision Making: Ability to make sound decisions and can be relied upon to complete all work assignments in a timely manner with integrity, accuracy, and efficiency. Efficiently uses City resources. Takes necessary precautions to ensure a safe work environment. Sound decision making to manage his/her time appropriately and eliminates any unnecessary down time.

Face-to-Face Review
When completing an employee evaluation, please schedule an in-person meeting to review it together rather than sending it through NEOGOV for independent review. This approach fosters a constructive feedback environment and gives employees the opportunity to ask questions and engage in meaningful discussion.
