Chef and TV Personality Paola Carosella Will Make a Special Appearance in the Netflix Film 'Caramelo'

São Paulo, September 26, 2024 - Netflix announces a special appearance by chef and TV personality Paola Carosella as a respected food critic in Caramelo, a fun and exciting film currently being shot in São Paulo. This will be the chef's first foray into the world of film.

In Caramelo, a heartwarming drama celebrating the ubiquitous mixed-breed dog that is one of Brazil's biggest cultural symbols, Pedro (Rafael Vitti) is a headstrong chef eager to fulfill his dream of managing a restaurant when an unexpected diagnosis suddenly upends his life. With the help of a friendly mutt, he embarks on an emotional journey of rediscovery, finding meaning and inspiration in the here and now. The cast also features Arianne Botelho, Noemia Oliveira, Ademara, Kelzy Ecard, Bruno Vinicius, Roger Gobeth and Olívia Araujo, as well as Cristina Pereira and Carolina Ferraz.

Produced by Migdal Filmes in its first partnership with Netflix, the feature film is based on an original idea and directed by Diego Freitas (Beyond the Universe, Burning Betrayal). The screenplay is by Diego Freitas, Rod Azevedo and Carolina Castro, with input from Marcelo Saback and Vitor Brandt.

Caramelo's production also includes animal trainer Luis Estrelas, ensuring animal welfare on the set, as well as American consultant trainer Mike Miliotti (Garfield: The Movie), who has been training and caring for animals in the film and television industry for over 20 years.
