President Vahagn Khachaturyan received President of the Federal Supreme Court of Iraq Jassim Muhammad Abboud

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the delegation headed by President of the Federal Supreme Court of the Republic of Iraq, Jassim Muhammad Abboud.

The President welcomed the visit of the delegation headed by Jassim Muhammad Abboud to Armenia and noted that it reflects the friendly nature of relations between the two countries, based on centuries-old mutual sympathy and good-neighborly coexistence of the Armenian and Iraqi peoples. "Relations between our countries are experiencing dynamic development, and mutual visits of various levels are continuous. In this context, the official visit of the esteemed President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdul Latif Rashid, to Armenia and my official visit to the Republic of Iraq were important events. Over the course of our discussions, we stated that we have great opportunities and potential in terms of developing relations between our countries, especially great untapped potential in the economic sphere," President Khachaturyan said in particular.
The President of the Federal Supreme Court of Iraq thanked for the welcome and noted: "Our visit to Armenia stems from the depth of relations between the two countries and full agreement on humanitarian issues".

During the meeting, the sides stressed the role of the established judicial-legal system in strengthening sovereignty, democracy and rule of law of states.

The sides exchanged views on the similarities between the state institutions of Armenia and Iraq and the importance of ongoing reforms.

During the conversation, a reference was made to the opportunities for further development of cooperation between the two countries in political, economic, cultural and other spheres, and from this point of view, the need for consistent steps to realize the existing potential of cooperation was emphasized.
