Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus in connection with the escalation of the situation in Syria

We express our support to President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Bashar al-Assad, the Government and the people of brotherly Syria in connection with the attacks by terrorist groups in the Aleppo and Hama provinces.

We reiterate our firm commitment to the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Syria.

We support the efforts of Damascus and its allies to repel the terrorist threat and stabilize the situation.

We categorically condemn the terrorist attacks on consular offices and the civilian population.

We express our hope for the speedy stabilization of the situation, the elimination of the terrorist threat and the return of brotherly Syria to peaceful life.
