L.A. Area Chamber Congratulates Mayor Bass for Representing L.A. and Receiving 2024 Paris Olympic Flag at Closing Ceremony

LOS ANGELES, CA - AUGUST 12, 2024 - The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce congratulates Mayor Karen Bass for making history as the first Black woman Mayor to receive the Olympic flag at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

"We are incredibly proud of Mayor Bass for representing Los Angeles and receiving the Olympic flag at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris," said Maria S. Salinas, President & CEO of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. "I was pleased to join Mayor Bass, elected officials, LA28 executives, and over 50 athletes on the ceremonial LA28 Olympic Flag Flight back to Los Angeles. We are excited for the work underway and the opportunities ahead for the L.A. region as we prepare to host the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in four years."

The official Olympic Flag was transported aboard a specially designed Delta Air Lines plane featuring the official LA28 logo.
