Mayor Johnson Attends 11th Bloomberg CityLab

NEW YORK, NY/WASHINGTON, D.C. - This week, Mayor Van R. Johnson, II attended the eleventh Bloomberg CityLab, a global summit organized by Bloomberg Philanthropies in partnership with the Aspen Institute.

This event, held Oct. 14-16 in Mexico City, brought together over 500 mayors, policymakers, and innovators worldwide to explore urban advancements in digitization, transportation, economic development, and climate solutions.

Mayor Johnson joined 116 other mayors from 36 countries across six continents to discuss strategies for making cities more livable, inclusive, and sustainable through panel discussions, one-on-one interviews, interactive breakout sessions, artistic performances, and excursions across Mexico City. The summit delved into the solutions shaped by city halls worldwide that are poised to reshape nations.

"I was so honored and excited to represent the City of Savannah in such an august gathering of national and global leaders," Mayor Johnson said. "Our world is beginning to be a smaller place, and this summit offered a vital platform for urban leaders from around the world to share innovative solutions and collaboratively shape the future of our cities."
