Training & Learning Opportunities

MeltSpa by Hershey offers more than 70 quality spa treatments, including massage, facials, body treatments, manicures, pedicures, waxingand more. Whether team members are recently out of beauty school or seasoned professionals in the industry, MeltSpa prides itself on ensuring that all team members are trained for their role in the service they provide. MeltSpa provides staff with hands-on training to ensure their team feels confident when performing services for guests. Spa Manager, Samantha Fisher, provides in-house opportunities for experiential learning, after-hours workshops and on-the-job training to keep her team refreshed and continuously expanding their skills.

With 80% of the clientele being local and repeat customers, it is easier for team members to build relationships with their clients during each visit. Team members at MeltSpa receive an hourly wage, commission on products sold to guests, gratuities on every service, and they don't need to worry about doing their laundry at the end of a long shift.

The Passionate Team

One of the sweetest parts of MeltSpa is the team of incredibly talented professionals behind it.

Gabby is a "legacy" of our destination spas, following in her mother's footsteps, who was part of the team at The Spa At The Hotel Hershey. After working at Hersheypark for two years, Gabby started in the spa space as a concierge, where she later picked up the basic techniques of practicing nails. She then went to be formally trained in nails at Empire Beauty School in Harrisburg and has been working at MeltSpa for just over two years as a nail technician.

We also spoke with Ron, who worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the healthcare industry for 12 years, only leaving nursing after working through the COVID-19 pandemic. Ron attended the Lancaster School of Massage, where he trained in therapeutic work, and now works as a massage therapist at MeltSpa by Hershey. His favorite service is deep tissue massages, as he enjoys seeing clients' reactions coming off the table. September will mark Ron's two years of employment with MeltSpa.

Supportive Workplace Culture

MeltSpa first opened its doors to the public in September 2017. As previously stated, MeltSpa by Hershey offers over 70 different services to fulfill our guests' needs. Of course, some of our more exclusive and popular services, like the 50-minute Hershey's Cocoa Massageand Hershey's Sweet Feet Dark Chocolate Treatments, draw clients to MeltSpa. However, the strong and inclusive work environment that the team at MeltSpa has built only makes guests and team members feel more special and makes their experience much sweeter.

When we asked MeltSpa team members about management, massage therapist Ron stated, "Samantha is the best boss. She'll have your back first, then help manage the guest situation. She makes it! She works alongside the team and does services when she needs to."
