TD Saturday Market vendors and participants expressed overwhelming support for holding a market this weekend. More than 40 vendors will be set up on Main Street between Court and Washington from 8 a.m. to noon.

For many, missing even a single market could result in financial loss. The market was canceled last weekend. Farmers and growers depend on the timely sale of perishable goods and our community relies on the market for fresh produce, including some items that are unavailable in stores due to the storm.

Many residents have asked how they can give back. The market is partnering with United Way of Greenville County to host a "Fill the Penske for Greenville" donation drive.

Needed items include:

• Canned goods with pop tops (vegetables, fruits, soups, meats)
• Boxed meals (pasta, rice, cereal)
• Peanut butter and protein bars
• Bottled water and sports drinks
• Diapers, baby wipes and formulas
• Hygiene products (soap, toothpaste, feminine hygiene)
• First aid supplies (bandages, pain relievers)
• Cleaning supplies (disinfectant wipes, trash bags)
