On 26 September 2024, H.E. Mr. Ankhbayar Nyamdorj, Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations, delivered remarks at the Annual Ministerial Meeting of the L.69 Group, held on the sidelines of the General Debate of the United Nations General Assembly.

The Permanent Representative reaffirmed Mongolia's steadfast commitment to the L.69 Group's goal of comprehensive United Nations Security Council reform, as well as its support for greater representation of under-represented regions, including Asia and the Pacific, Africa, and Latin America, and for the expansion of both permanent and non-permanent seats.

The Ministerial Meeting of the L.69 Group was chaired by Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira, along with representatives from over 20 countries, participated and shared their perspectives. Notably, this meeting marked a significant milestone as it was the first time that members of the C-10 group of African countries were invited to join the discussions.

In 2007, 25 developing countries submitted a draft resolution to the UN General Assembly calling for the reform of the Security Council, proposing the inclusion of representatives from developing nations in both categories of membership. This draft resolution, numbered "L.69," became the foundation for establishing the group, which was subsequently named after it. Mongolia joined the L.69 Group in 2008.
