Beckley Man Sentenced to Prison for Federal Drug Crime

BECKLEY, W.Va. - Davon Jamir Linder, 24, of Beckley, was sentenced today to five years and eight months in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release, for distribution of methamphetamine.<_o3a_p>

According to court documents and statements made in court, on February 27, 2023, Linder sold a controlled substance containing methamphetamine to a confidential informant in Beckley. Linder admitted to the transaction. Linder was also found in possession of 800 grams of methamphetamine when a search warrant was executed at his house. He was on parole supervision at the time the offenses occurred.<_o3a_p>

United States Attorney Will Thompson made the announcement and commended the investigative work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Beckley/Raleigh County Drug and Violent Crime Unit, which consists of officers from the West Virginia State Police, the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department, and the Beckley Police Department.<_o3a_p>

Chief United States District Judge Frank W. Volk imposed the sentence. Assistant United States Attorney Andrew D. Isabell prosecuted the case.<_o3a_p>
