Educational Systems FCU Supports Education with Back to School Efforts

Educational Systems Federal Credit Union demonstrated its support of education during the back-to-school season through a variety of initiatives, donations, and events across 10 school systems aimed at helping educators, students and families start the school year strong.

This year, the Credit Union donated 5,200 backpacks filled with school supplies through its Support Education Foundation and participated in 24 new educator orientations. To further support new educators, the Credit Union offered the New Educator Essentials-a suite of financial tools and special offers. The package featured the First-Time Homebuyer program offering a closing cost credit, a pre-approved Visa® credit card and a Premium Summer Pay account to help save for summer expenses.

"We consider it an honor to Support Education in the communities we serve," said Girado Smith, President/CEO of Educational Systems FCU. "Our involvement in these events and initiatives reflects our commitment to fostering educational success and financial wellness. We are proud to stand alongside educators, students and their families as they begin the new school year."

In mid-August, the Credit Union kicked off the season with its annual Tips and Tools for Back-to-School contest. Congratulations to the Grand Prize winner, Asa Daniels, who emphasized the importance of staying organized and proactive by creating routines, setting personal deadlines, and using tools like planners to break big tasks into manageable steps for student success. They received an Amazon Fire® tablet and $500 to donate to the school of their choice.

"Thank you, Educational Systems Federal Credit Union, for giving me the opportunity to share my tips for student success!" said Daniels. "I'm thrilled that the $500 will support Charles County Public Schools, North Point High School's Career and Technical Education program - we appreciate all you do!"

The Credit Union's involvement extended to various community events, including hosting an Ice Cream Social to connect with educators and their families, sponsoring the Bowie Baysox Support Education game and Back-to-School Supply Donation Drive, and engaging with educational leaders at their summer training sessions. These efforts are part of the Credit Union's ongoing commitment to support educators and students throughout the school year.
