Debate on main financial document of coming year continues in National Assembly

The Mayor Tigran Avinyan touched upon the amendments made during the last years on the formation of the budget revenues and expenditures of the city of Yerevan.

"In 2024, the city of Yerevan increased its own revenues compared with the year 2023. In 2024, we collected more than 61 billion AMD revenues compared with 39 billion of 2023," the rapporteur underscored and added that in recent two years the Municipality began implementing infrastructure programmes, among which is the sewer replacement.

Tigran Avinyan considered unprecedented the implementation of the works directed to the average repairing of 52 km road by the support of the Government and the invested sums of money by the Municipality. As he informed, this year the Municipality bought 171 buses, spending 7.6 billion AMD, 15 trolley buses, spending 1.8 billion AMD. It was that large-scale cleaning of yard areas was also done, cultural numerous events were organized.

The Mayor also spoke about the reforms being made in the sphere of public transport.

81.4 percent of the allocations planned for the next year's budget to the Public Services Regulatory Commission will be directed to the costs of labor remuneration, and 18.6% - to obtain services of goods nece4ssary for providing regular activity of the Commission. The member of the Public Services Regulatory Commission Sergey Aghinyan said this. According to him, in 2025, the structure will continue the work of legal acts aimed at improving the regulation mechanisms, including the amendment of the commercial rules of the electricity wholesale and retail market, as well as the improvement of the tariff policy.

According to the Chairman of the Competition Protection Commission Gegham Gevorgyan, the Committee will become a central body for protection of consumers, implementing large scale of functions aimed at the protection of the consumers' rights.

Beginning from 2025, the Urban Development Committee initiates technical translation of the EU norms and standards, localization works. Legislative amendments will also be made which will allow applying the EU norms and standards in the sphere of urban development. The Chairman of the Urban Development Committee Yeghiazar Vardanyan said this.

As the Head of the Cadastre Committee Suren Tovmasyan informed, in 2025 the Committee will fulfill the programme Implementation of state policy in the field of real estate cadastre management.

On November 4, at the joint sitting of the NA Standing Committees on Economic Affairs and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs the deputies got familiarized with the programmes being implemented in a number of spheres by the RA draft law on State Budget of the Republic of Armenia 2025.
