Montana State to host film screening in recognition of American Indian Heritage Day

BOZEMAN - In recognition of American Indian Heritage Day, Montana State University will host a free, public film screening on campus on Friday, Sept. 27.

Designated by the Montana legislature in 1997, American Indian Heritage Day is recognized annually on the last Friday in September. This year, the theme of MSU's event is "This is Home."

MSU American Indian and Alaska Native Student Success Services will host a screening of the film "Bring Them Home," which follows a group of Blackfeet people in their work to re-establish a wild buffalo herd on their ancestral land. The event will be held at 4 p.m. in the Great Hall of MSU's American Indian Hall. After the screening will be a question-and-answer session with the film's directors, Daniel Glick, Ivan MacDonald and Ivy MacDonald, that will be moderated by Chase Hall, a recent graduate of MSU's School of Film and Photography.
