The City of Santa Fe has joined U.S. Housing and Urban Development in celebrating 50 years of the Community Development Block Grant program, which helps, communities fund critical programs.
Two recent projects that have been completed or are near completion are the Safe Routes to Schools project, which built a trail between El Camino Real Academy and Cottonwood Village Mobile Home Park, and the rehabilitation of the Chainbreaker Collective headquarters.
Funding for the ongoing Chainbreaker project is being used to make essential building repairs at its new headquarters to allow its Bicycle Resource Center and the Renter's Rights Center to serve the community safely and effectively.
The city received $623,117 from CDBG in 2024.
