Rep. Good Bills Eliminate Woke DEI Housing Policies

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Bob Good (VA-05) introduced his final two bills of the 118th Congress, the No Discrimination in Housing Actand The Flexibility in Housing Act of 2024. These two bills would eliminate woke DEI policies that the Biden-Harris Administration has injected into housing policy over the past four years.

"Many Americans struggle to even dream of home ownership in the current economy," said Good. "The Biden-Harris Administration's radicalization of housing policy prioritizes woke DEI corporations, yet does nothing that will actually drive down the cost of a home in an economy destroyed by Bidenflation. My bills aim to restore Trump-era housing flexibility and eliminate the DEI housing policies that prohibit families from pursuing the American dream."

No Discrimination in Housing Act

Large woke corporations like Blackstone, Vanguard, and Starwood Capital are buying up single-family homes en masse-driving up rents and placing a strain on housing availability. These companies utilize the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), which is meant to finance the acquisition, construction, and rehabilitation of affordable rental housing for low- and moderate-income tenants.

Good's No Discrimination in Housing Actwould prohibit any entity with a DEI initiative from receiving the LIHTC-thereby ensuring the tax credit is distributed based on merit-not for the advancement of the radical DEI ideology.

The Flexibility in Housing Act of 2024

The Flexibility in Housing Act of 2024would prevent the Biden-Harris Administration from finalizing a Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) rule requiring HUD grantees to implement so-called equity-driven housing plans. Instead, this bill would reinstate the Trump Administration's commonsense approach to housing policy, deferring decisions to states and localities.

Cosponsors (6): Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MT), Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI), Rep. Randy Weber (R-TX), Rep. Brian Babin (R-TX), Rep. Ben Cline (R-VA)

Rep. Good introduced a total of 51 bills and resolutions in the 118th Congress.
