Michigan Dems highlighting the stakes of races at every level and the growing enthusiasm 100 days from November's general election
LANSING - This week, Michigan Dems kept their foot on the pedal, hosting a presser to mark 100 days until the general election, holding JD Vance accountable for his politically motivated run to the right, and uplifting the stakes of the state Supreme Court race in the face of a landmark decision on Republican's antidemocratic tactics.
The week started with Governor Whitmer and Senator Stabenow leading a press call with other Michigan Dem leaders to highlight what's at stake at every level just 100 days out from the election. With Rep. Haley Stevens, Speaker Joe Tate, and state Rep. Jason Morgan, they reminded voters of the threats to our families, our rights, and our democracy that MAGA Republicans pose.
Michigan Dems also spent the week reminding voters of JD Vance's record and past, as an old friend reported to Bridge that Vance abandoned all principles and ran to the right to gain power and status as the VP pick. Just like Trump, he doesn't actually care about Michiganders and their families, he cares about how he can help himself - and we deserve better.
Finally, Chair Barnes celebrated the Michigan Supreme Court's ruling that anti-democratic Republican tactics from 2018 were unconstitutional - making loud and clear that their growing attacks on our democracy are unacceptable. This decision stresses the importance of keeping Justice Kyra Harris Bolden and putting Kimberly Ann Thomas on the bench this November.

On Monday afternoon, Governor Whitmer, US Senator Stabenow, US Representative Stevens, state House Speaker Tate, and Michigan Dems First Vice Chair state Representative Morgan uplifted the stakes of the election 100 days out. While we have already built out strong campaign infrastructure, Michigan Dems are working every day to grow this campaign and defeat Donald Trump this November.
We know we cannot afford to get complacent or forget the threats we face this November, and these Democratic leaders emphasized the dangers MAGA Republicans at every level pose to the issues Michiganders care most about:

Then, Michigan attorney Sofia Nelson - a longtime friend of Trump's VP pick JD Vance - spoke up in Bridge to warn Michigan voters about Vance's true character. We already knew that Trump doesn't care about anything besides helping himself, but Nelson makes it clear that Vance is just as bad, if not worse, than Trump. He has no problem abandoning all principles for the sake of power, and he has no business anywhere near the vice presidency:

On Wednesday, the Michigan Supreme Court ruled that the Republican-led tactic to overthrow the will of the voters in 2018 was unconstitutional. This decision makes more clear than ever the stakes of the upcoming race for control of the state supreme court:
