Teck Lee LRT Station to Start Operations on 15 August 2024

Commuters travelling to Punggol town, the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and Punggol Digital District (PDD) can look forward to improved transport connectivity with the opening of Teck Lee LRT Station on 15 August 2024, complementing other transport enhancements in Punggol this year.

2. Located along Sentul Walk, Teck Lee LRT station will provide commuters access to the new SIT Punggol campus and the business park within PDD. There will also be covered linkways to facilitate first-and-last mile journeys for commuters between the LRT station, business park and SIT.

3. LTA has also procured 25 new two-car trains for the Sengkang-Punggol LRT (SPLRT), which will be delivered progressively from the end of this year. These new trains will double the number of two-car trains in the SPLRT fleet, increasing passenger capacity to better serve residents and meet long-term public transport demand.

4. The opening of Teck Lee LRT station and improvements to SPLRT complement bus Service 84G/W in enhancing connectivity to the northern part of Punggol. Since 23 June 2024, the bi-directional circular service has been operating between Punggol Bus Interchange, Sentul Crescent, Punggol Way, New Punggol Road and Punggol Road.

5. In addition, the new Punggol Coast MRT station on the North East Line is on track to open by the end of the year. More details will be announced subsequently.
